It is the British Fashion Awards 2011 tonight Monday 28th November, which is held at the Savoy Hotel and Theatre, recognising the most influential people in fashion today and celebrating the reputation and development of British fashion. British designers and creatives are renowned for their ability to set the global fashion agenda. Each year the British Fashion Awards celebrates their creativity and success.
The British Fashion Awards begins with a drinks reception followed by dinner and then the awards ceremony itself.

Emerging Talent Award – Accessories
An innovative and directional accessories designer who is emerging as an influential force in British fashion in the Accessories category.
Nominees: Jordan Askill, Nasir Mazhar and Tabitha Simmons.
Emerging Talent Award – Menswear
An innovative and directional designer who is emerging as an influential force in British menswear ready-to-wear design.
Nominees: Christopher Raeburn, James Long and J.W. Anderson.
Model
A British model who has contributed most to the international fashion scene in the past year.
Nominees: Georgia Jagger, Kristen McMenamy, and Stella Tennant.
Designer Brand
A leading British based designer brand that has excelled and made an impact on the international stage over the past year.
Nominees: Burberry, Stella McCartney, Tom Ford and Victoria Beckham.
Menswear Designer
A leading British designer of ready-to-wear and bespoke tailoring who has been instrumental in enhancing men’s fashion in the past year.
Nominees: Kim Jones, Margaret Howell and Oliver Spencer.
British Style Award
The British Style award is for an individual who embodies the spirit of London and is an international ambassador for London as a leading creative fashion capital.

Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator
A British stylist, make-up artist, photographer, art director or producer whose creativity has been a major inspiration and influence in the past year.
Nominees: Guido Palau, Katie Grand and Sam Gainsbury.
Red Carpet Award
Gives recognition to a British designer who is creating global awareness of their designs in the media.
Nominees: Antonio Berardi, Stella McCartney and Victoria Beckham.
BFC Outstanding Achievement in Fashion
An award recognising one designer who throughout their career has influenced and inspired the global fashion industry.
Winner: Sir Paul Smith
Accessory Designer
The leading British designer of shoes, jewellery, millinery or accessories within the past year.
Nominees: Charlotte Olympia, Emma Hill for Mulberry and Katie Hillier.
New Establishment
A new category for 2011, to seek and recognise a particular movement in British fashion that is taking the industry by storm.
Nominees: Christopher Kane, Erdem and Jonathan Saunders
The winners are selected by relevant panels of leading British and international media and buyers.
Established in 1989, the British Fashion Awards was born from the British Fashion Council’s then five-year-old Designer of the Year Award. For more than 20 years, the British Fashion Awards has been celebrating the contributions of British designers, creatives and models to the international fashion scene.
